“….Scout, what a beautiful name”. Erin remarked while writing down names she loved. Erin was 19 years old when she wrote those names down and was still at university. Erin went on to eventually met her partner Evan and together they had a gorgeous baby girl together, naming her none other than Scout, the name Erin had picked out years prior before even meeting Evan. It’s funny how things come full circle like that. Scout is such a beautiful name (It’s actually a name I’ve always loved too). It suits baby Scout down to a tee 🙂
I met up with Evan, Erin and Scout up at Katoomba for a family photography session. Of course it had to be on the one day of the year that the weather forecast was predicting snow! Nevertheless we soldiered on in the cold, giving the portrait session a unique feel and allowing the Blue Mountains to live up to its reputation of being naturally cold.
It did actually start to snow while we were outside photographing and my main concern was to make sure Scout was warm enough, so we quickly jetted off to the local tourism centre to warm up, after about 15 minutes the sun came out, the place had warmed up significantly and we were able to finish off the photo session close by.
I did pop into one of Katoomba’s many coffee shops to warm up with a hot cuppa and thaw out a bit, but it was definitely worth venturing out in the cold as the photos are so beautiful and show the mountains in all their glory. I’m honestly so lucky to live in such a beautiful place!
